Trine Review

trine video game review

I’ve seen many reviews about well known games like Uncharted 2, Killzone, Super Mario Galaxy, Modern Warfare and the like. Usually these games are from accredited publishers and are no brainers for reviewers to partake in because of their high profile.

Today however, I wanted to bring to light a game that for the most part seemed to go relatively unmentioned. TRINE, by developer Frozenbyte, inc. is by far (and in my opinion) one of the most entertaining PSN game when it comes to some co-operative fun.

Sure TRINE is fun to play in single player. Not only does it have lush and interactive environments, but it also has some incredible attention to detail. Although being primarily a platformer, TRINE managed to add a very well crafted story with superb narration. Combine that with great looking graphics and excellent physics effects and trophy support to boot, you will find yourself playing this game for hours on end solving puzzles and surviving a horde of enemies.

TRINE, by developer Frozenbyte, inc. is by far (and in my opinion) one of the most entertaining PSN game when it comes to some co-operative fun.

Where TRINE really shines is in multiplayer, it lets you play through the game with 3 characters, a scheming Thief, a distressed Magician and a whimsical Knight. Each of which brandish their unique style of play and skill. I found myself playing this game with friends and family and having quite an abundance of fun.

At times the game gets very tricky even challenging especially when trying to get through it with multiple players which at times can make the game play effortlessly, but at times it makes the game quite intricate. I shamefully admit that the last mission was so difficult that I had to get through it on my own in order to complete the game.

If you’re looking for some good single player fun or a great co-operative experience, you should pick up TRINE and find out for yourself why Frozenbyte has decided to announce a sequel due out in 2011.
