Despicable Me – Review
Aug 14th
Despicable Me is actually a very cute movie. It starts off a little slow, not knowing what the hell is going on and wondering where the minions are. The minions and the little girls are what make this movie. The plot is a simple one: Gru (voice by Steve Carell) was once the world most notorious thief until a new younger thief Vector (voice by Jason Segal) steals an Egyptian Pyramid. In an attempt to win back his notoriety Gru steals a Chinese shrink ray gun to shrink and steal the moon. After Gru steal the shrink ray gun, Vector is right there to steal it from him. So, Gru has to break into his house to steal it back. After several attempts to break into Vector’s compound, Gru sees three little orphan Girl Scouts are welcomed into his compound to sell him some Girl Scout cookies.
Gru changes his plan and adopts these three little girls so he can build robot cookies to send in disguise to allow him to break in and steal the shrink ray gun. This plan goes off without a hitch (sorta). The robot cookies must have been set on a timer because once Gru broke in and stole the gun the robot cookies sealed up the wall and locked Gru inside. Luckily Gru was able to make his way out of the compound without being caught and made on his way with the shrink ray gun.
After the successful re-heist of the shrink ray gun, the little girls want to go to the amusement park for some fun. Gru reluctantly takes them and ends up having a great time and even grows a little closer to these girls.
After successfully stealing the moon, Vector once again manages to get his hands on the stolen moon but kidnapping the girls and demanding a trade for the moon for the girls. Gru agrees and hands over the moon but Vector keeps the girls. Eventually it is brought to Gru that the shrink ray gun eventually reverts whatever was shrunk back into its original size. The rate of reversion is dependent on the size of the object. Large object revert quick than smaller ones. Since the moon is so huge its reversion rate is very quick. Gru must now save the girls from the increase moon. He does and re-adopts the girls, they were taken away from him earlier in the movie, and vows to never let them go again. Gru had a Grinch moment. The movie was very cute and as I said the minions and the little girls made the movie.
Lando Calrissian: Space isn’t black enough to hide from him
Aug 13th
Star War fans are the greatest beings in the universe, and this fan made trailer of Lando Calrissian’s own Star Wars movie just cements that even further.
Watch this fan made 70′s style Blaxploitation-type movie, is probably better than episode I, II, and III. The acting alone is better than all three combined

Billy Mitchell reclaims Donkey Kong and DK Jr. high scores

“I can’t think of a better time and place than at the eve of the IVGHOF to have this happen,” says Mitchell, explaining: “I really have to give a nod to my son who prodded me to do something special for this historic event and Boomers-Grand Prix for graciously giving me the place to set my records.”
The scores – 1,062,800 on DK and 1,270,900 on DK Jr. – were verified live at Boomers-Grand Prix Arcade in Florida by veteran Twin Galaxies referees Todd Rogers and MorningDove Mahoney. Though his goal was to simply tackle DK alone over one weekend, Mitchell notes that he simply couldn’t turn down the opportunity to carry on his winning streak to DK Jr. when he found himself with free time to spare. “I remember a lot of celebration; hugs, kisses and a lot of hooting and hollering. Once that died down, stood there looking at Donkey Kong Jr. and thought ‘there’s one more thing I have to take care of’.”
“This has been a landmark event for Twin Galaxies International,” says David Nelson, Director of Adjudication for TGI. “We’re proud and excited to be here in Ottumwa, Iowa, birthplace of Twin Galaxies, celebrating the very first International Video Game Hall and now playing a key role in this significant gaming achievement.”
The final times for Mitchell’s DK and DK Jr. games were 2hrs 42 and 3hrs 58 minutes, respectively. Asked why he stopped as soon as he had slipped past Hank Chien’s previous world record of 1,061,700, Mitchell adds: “Some say I’m being cocky. Some say I’m being lazy. I say, I’m being Billy Mitchell.”

Disciples 3: Renaissance Review
Jul 27th
In a time when gaming is full of 3rd person shooter and first person shooters. It is really something to still have developers make games based on 2D game play on an old fashion turn based battle system, but thank goodness their are still developers out there who do. Disciples 3 brings old fashion game play with a pretty nice 3d engine, some of the best art, character design, and map layout your will ever see. While it may seem D3 has taken a giant leap forward, it still hold on to some of the stuff that made Disciples 1 and 2 addictive, leaving you wondering where the day went. Sure, this game does have its flaws, but Game Factory Interactive made sure that none of these flaws take away from what is a fantastic gaming experience.
